Driving Range
The training/practice range at The Golf Complex
covers thirty acres of property, only one mile West of Kentucky Oaks
Mall. It includes a 200
yard wide natural Bermuda grass turf tee (300+ yards long), fifteen
artificial hitting mats, and eight
heated indoor/outdoor hitting bays.
Fifteen different greens serve to give the
amateur/professional golfer precise areas for target practice,
allowing shots from 25 yards to 250 yards!
That is, if you’ve got the kind of game for a 250 yard par
three!!
A separate Champion Ultra-dwarf Bermuda
green and sand trap are available in the short game area, primarily
for chipping only. This
area is designed for all of those problem shots—side-hill, uphill,
downhill, deep rough, or zoysia fringe.
Unlike most other facilities, The Complex
is positioned so you hit from North to South, as are most premium
PGA ranges. Why is this
important? (1)You avoid
the piercing late day sun from the West, during summer.
(2) In fall, winter, and spring, you avoid the harsh
northerly winds, when hitting inside.
We provided lessons every day, Monday through Saturday in
2004, since the wind was blocked, and the heaters were available
when the temperature was below 50 degrees.
Stop by and enjoy this new golfing
pleasure. Most times, you will find at least four PGA professionals
available to improve your game through instruction, fitting, or
equipment. And, several
other PGA Club/Tour Pros visit The Complex to teach students or
enhance their games!!
